Blackberry, a young Shih Tzu pup, arrived in our care in a heartbreaking condition, with inflamed eyes and his body entangled in painful mats.

It was difficult to distinguish his paws and ears from the matted fur, his leg was shaking, and he was so fearful. Blackberry was rushed in for urgent medical care. He underwent a sedated shave to carefully remove the painful fur. X-rays revealed a deformed front foot due to a congenital disorder, along with signs of an old traumatic injury. He has been prescribed eye drops to alleviate his inflamed eyes. Lastly, Blackberry urgently requires a specialized neuter surgery.

Blackberry, who has known little kindness in his short life, is slowly learning to trust humans and is beginning to reveal his loving and cuddly side. Every day, he's taking small steps toward understanding that humans can be sources of comfort and care. Will you help Blackberry on his journey to healing?

Personal updates for Blackberry will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.

*Goal includes: Sedated shave, x-rays, oral surgery, cryptorchid neuter surgery, medications, and daily care for Blackberry until he’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
