Medical Emergency Fund Page for Shelly and Amber

Spotted dragging her foot behind, with a wound that exposed her bone, Shelly’s condition was dire. Over the course of a week, her foot disappeared entirely, leaving behind a gaping stump. A compassionate rescuer dedicated a week to gaining the trust of Shelly and her tiny kitten, so they could get them to safety.

Due to her severe leg wound, Shelly required immediate medical attention. They were transported from the remote area where they were discovered via ferry and taken directly to a veterinary hospital. The medical team examined her thoroughly and determined that Shelly’s best chance for a full recovery was to amputate the leg to prevent further infection. The young feline is now on cage rest with regular bandage changes while she awaits her surgery. Her kitten, Amber, is suffering from an upper respiratory infection. She is being carefully monitored and receiving medication twice a day while she heals.

Despite a frightful start to life as a strays, Shelly and Amber are such loving and friendly felines. Shelly eagerly waits by her cage door, ready to greet you, looking for pets and cuddles. Will you show your kindness to this little family today?

Personal updates for Shelly will be provided to anyone who donates to her care.

*Goal includes: Amputation surgery, wound care, rechecks, medications, spay surgery, rechecks and daily care for Shelly and Amber until they are ready for adoption. If their medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in their name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
