Medical Emergency Fund Page for Abby and Igor

After just one week in our care, Abby the pregnant stray started going into labour. A concerning discharge of an unusual colour soon appeared and it was clear that something was very wrong.

The poor girl was rushed to the clinic where her medical team took her in for an x-ray right away. X-ray revealed there was a large kitten lodged inside her, making it impossible for Abby to deliver naturally. They performed a life-saving c-section. Miraculously, both Abby and her kitten survived, her little one affectionately named Igor. Given Igor’s delicate condition, he was placed in an incubator and put on oxygen. Abby was spayed during the c-section and was placed on weeks of antibiotics and probiotics to prevent infection. Unfortunately, this wasn't the end to the rough start and Abby rejected little Igor for the first few days, and while she got a much-needed rest, Igor was supplemented with bottle feeding while being gently reintroduced to his mama daily to ensure they would bond once she was feeling better.

Thankfully, after a few days, Igor and Abby formed a deep bond, and their relationship has been seamless ever since. Igor is thriving as the sole kitten, he has already surpassed the average size for a kitten his age, and his spirited personality matches his remarkable growth. Abby is a gentle and loving mother. She loves to sunbathe in her foster home while she gains strength after her surgery and spends time with Igor. Will you help this little family heal?

Personal updates for Abby and Igor will be provided to anyone who donates to their campaign.

*Goal includes: Emergency vet care, c-section, spay/neuter surgeries, medications and daily care for Abby and Igor until they’re ready for adoption. If their medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in their name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
