Medical Emergency Fund Page for Ruby

After giving birth to 6 tiny kittens, Ruby began displaying unusual behaviour. She was lethargic and refused to nurse her babies. She was rushed to the vet for care right away.

Upon examination, the veterinary team diagnosed Ruby with mastitis – an inflammation of her mammary glands that caused her to develop a fever and feel seriously unwell. The poor young cat’s infection was so severe that it resulted in gangrene. Ruby needed surgery so that the dead tissue could be removed from her mammary glands. The operation was extensive, and as a result, Ruby’s kittens had to be separated from her and bottle-fed to allow her to recover in peace.

At just 6-months-old, Ruby has been through so much. She has been so patient and loving throughout her medical exams. She's not picky about who she makes friends with and will gladly soak up the attention of anyone who will give it to her. Will you help this young feline on her road to recovery?

Personal updates for Ruby will be provided to anyone who donates to her care.

*Goal includes: Surgery, pain medications, spay surgery and daily care for Ruby until she is ready for adoption. If her medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in her name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
