Medical Emergency Fund Page for Herman

This poor feline arrived in our care after a traumatic experience. Herman was struck by a vehicle and suffered serious injuries including a fracture to his hind leg.

Herman was immediately brought to our veterinary team for assessment and care. They found that he was in shock and was suffering from a slow bleeding tear to his femoral artery caused by a bone fragment. His medical team provided urgent care, stabilizing him, and keeping him comfortable with pain control. Herman’s injuries were so severe that he required surgery to amputate his leg and control the bleeding. The blood loss was significant, and one of his vets decided to take him home so that they could closely monitor his recovery.

Currently, Herman is recovering in his vet’s home, where he has settled in and grown comfortable with the other dogs and cats in the house. He has even been enjoying attention from the kids in the home. Herman still has a ways to go on his healing journey but so far, he is adapting to his new life on three legs with remarkable courage.

Personal updates for Herman will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.

*Goal includes: Amputation surgery, bloodwork, medications, neuter, and daily care for Herman until he is ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
