Medical Emergency Fund Page for Berta

This beautiful Tortoiseshell cat was discovered wandering along the side of a road in a terrible state. Emaciated and limping, it was clear that she was in distress. Fortunately, a compassionate Good Samaritan noticed her struggles and brought her to us.

Although the cause of Berta’s injuries are uncertain, it is likely that she was hit by a car. We rushed her to the vet for a thorough exam and x-rays. Her condition was stabilized with pain medication, which helped ease her discomfort. The x-rays revealed that the poor dear had a broken pelvis. Berta needed specialized surgery to repair it to help her live pain-free. She was put on a refeeding plan to help her regain her weight and strength safely.

Despite her suffering, Berta has shown remarkable resilience and affection. She never fails to greet our staff and volunteers with a gentle meow when entering her room. For the coming weeks, Berta will be gaining her strength in foster care, soaking up plenty of love and attention to help with her recovery.

With your help, we are confident Berta will soon be healthy and happy again, ready to find her forever home.

Personal updates for Berta will be provided to anyone who donates to her campaign.

*Goal includes: Specialized surgery, medications, spay, and daily care until she’s ready for adoption. If her medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in her name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
