Medical Emergency Fund Page for Sam & Peanut

These senior boys needed some serious medical attention when they first arrived. The smell that filled the air was so strong, it was clear they hadn’t had a bath in a long time. Their fur was full of dirt and grime, and their coats were severely matted. The thick mats were pulling at their tender skin and causing these old gents a lot of pain.

As well as their fur and skin issues, both Sam and Peanut's dental health is in shocking condition. Not hugely surprising given the ages of this Shih Tzu and Maltese - 14 and 12. Both of these buddies need oral surgery and medication to alleviate the pain. Sam’s teeth in particular are almost all rotten and a whopping 15 will need to be extracted to improve his situation!

These two peas in a pod have both been professionally groomed, including trimming their significantly overgrown nails. At the shelter, they love to ‘patrol’ the halls, watching everything that’s going on, and can almost always be found together. These two seniors are big fans of napping somewhere warm and cozy with their people, and will be doing so lots as they recover from their surgeries.

Personal updates for Sam and Peanut will be provided to anyone who donates to their care. We can't wait to find this bonded pair a loving home!

*Goal includes: oral surgery including extractions, professional grooming, pain medication and daily care for Sam and Peanut until they’re ready for adoption. If their medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in their names, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
