Medical Emergency Fund Page for Rolo
Rolo's story is heartbreaking. He was found tied to a railing outside a building in a downtown area. There was a desperate note attached to his collar asking someone to please take care of him.
It isn't hard to see that this nine-year-old senior dog was in need of urgent medical help. He was rushed into an emergency vet for care.
Sweet Rolo has a lot going on health wise. The vet examined the large, protruding mass on his leg and Rolo was sedated for a biopsy. As he was having his teeth examined, three fell out (!) and it was clear to see Rolo has ringworm on his face, as well as his legs. His ribs are protruding because this boy is underweight, which means he needs to be put on a refeeding plan alongside all his other treatments. Thankfully, the mass on Rolo's leg was found to be benign, but it will still need removal and he needs some serious oral surgery, as well as treatment for his ringworm.
Rolo has been through so much, but he continues to find joy every day! Animals can be so resilient. He is always excited when shelter staff greet him in the morning and give him his breakfast. When he goes out for walks he has the energy and enthusiasm of a puppy, not a senior! This boy is calm and gentle. He has been so patient while staff bathe, treat and medicate him. His eyes share his gratitude and he always leans in craving everyone's affection.
This old gent has been through a lot recently, but we know he's going to make a family complete once he is fully recovered and ready to find his forever home.
Please share your love with Rolo so he can find his new people who will love him for the rest of his golden years.
Personal updates for Rolo will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, pain medication, x-rays, skin treatment, oral surgery, neuter and daily care for Rolo until he’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
