Medical Emergency Fund Page for Sapphire

When Sapphire arrived at the BC SPCA, shelter staff noticed that she was very sensitive about her mouth. She was reluctant to eat - a concerning sign that can indicate more severe underlying issues. When this senior lady was brought to the vet, they found that Sapphire had several aching, infected teeth, and badly needed oral surgery to be able to eat normally again.

The vet team was able to immediately remove the most severely infected tooth, and Sapphire is currently waiting for her next appointment for her second oral surgery. Sometimes senior animals need a little extra care to get them back on their paws, so while she waits, Sapphire is living with a wonderful foster family, who are giving her round-the-clock care.

Sapphire is doing quite well in foster care, and despite the discomfort that she has endured, she has been so loving to everyone she meets. She can almost always be found lounging on a warm lap or laying in the sun. Once she gets the surgery she needs and completes her recovery, we know that Sapphire will make a lovely addition to her forever family.

Will you help sweet Sapphire live out her senior years free of pain?

Costs will include oral surgery, pain medication and management, and daily care.

Personal updates for Sapphire will be provided to anyone who donates to her campaign.

*Goal includes: oral surgery, pain management and monitoring, regular health check, and daily care for Sapphire until she's ready for adoption. If their medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in her name, any additional funds will provide care for other animals.
