Medical Emergency Fund Page for Merritt

Merritt is a survivor. But it was touch and go when she first arrived at the shelter. Her and her siblings were living out in the cold under a townhouse when a kind neighbour bought the litter in for emergency care.

The four babies were in a desperate way; in need of food, water, medical care and most importantly the comfort of our staff to hold and soothe these tiny, young kittens to let them know they were safe. Day and night they've needed careful monitoring so we can help them feed, provide the medical treatments they needed, rush them to the vet and nurse them back to health.

Merritt has needed months of care already and now she's preparing for surgery. She has a corneal ulcer in her left eye and the scar tissue is only going to get worse. The decreased blood flow to her eye means the tissue is beginning to die and the only option is to remove it to reduce risks in the future.

Through it all, Merritt has been a champion! She is super cute, playful and so happy to be around people to get in the cuddles she missed in her first few months of life. She is bonded to her fluffy sister, Hope, and we will be searching for a forever home for the both of them once Merritt has had her surgery.

Today you can save two young lives. Help Merritt by donating towards her surgery and care and save Hope from a broken heart.

Personal updates for will be provided to anyone who donates to Merritt's campaign.

*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Merritt until she's ready for adoption. If her medical costs and cost of care are less than what is raised in her name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
