Medical Emergency Fund Page for Ramone
Sadly at 18-years-old Ramone's elderly, disabled owner realized his feline friend needed care that he could not provide and desperate medical help. Alarmingly, he had only been to the vet once in his entire life!
He arrived in bad shape, suffering from a number of issues; severe arthritis with swollen joints in his elbows, hips, knees and spine, a very lame hind leg due to an old injury, matted fur thick with dandruff, dehydration, extremely poor mouth health with missing teeth, the list goes on. It was touch and go for the first week ending in an emergency visit to the vet for vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, constipation, and not eating or drinking. We rushed through some bloodwork which indicated possible inflammatory bowel disease or lymphoma, but thankfully an ultrasound ruled that out. He responded well to medications and IVs which was a relief!
He'll require extensive, specialist oral surgery to fix the many broken, missing and painful teeth so he can enjoy his food again. As well as pain medication to ease his discomfort and injections to support his arthritic joints. He's happily in a loving foster home while he waits for his surgery and will likely need up to four weeks of care in total to get him back to full health.
Ramone is one of the friendliest, most endearing cats we have ever cared for. He is very chill. In his prime he must have been a powerful cat full of cat mojo, which he displays even today. He is dressed for every occasion with his tuxedo markings! He absolutely loves attention and will loudly let you know how much he needs it! He has a hilarious meow and he's a chatty gentleman until you pick him up. Then he just melts in your arms, purrs, and soaks up the love. As he regains his health, we're noticing that he still likes to play and chase his toys with an adorable wobbly running style!
This incredible senior survivor is a complete charmer. Please show him your love today by donating towards his many treatments and surgery.
Personal updates for Ramone will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.
*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Ramone until he's ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, any additional funds will provide care for other animals.
