Medical Emergency Fund Page for Ivy
Ivy is a seven-week-old kitten who went through something no animal should have to go through. A kind Samaritan was driving on the highway when they noticed a nearby car slow down and throw something out of the window before quickly speeding up again.
The Samaritan pulled up and saw what, or who, had been tossed and it was a tiny black kitten. They gently scooped up the seriously injured kitten to bring her in for urgent help. She hit the pavement so hard that the skin on her tail was completely removed and her femur was painfully fractured. She also has scrapes and wounds to her body and face from the impact. It’s heartbreaking that someone did that to this sweet girl.
Ivy was in an immense amount of pain when she arrived so her pain was quickly managed with medication while her wounds and scrapes were cleaned up. Her vet examined her injuries and sadly her tail is beyond repair and will need to be amputated. She will also require surgery to repair her femur. Despite her painful injuries, she is an overall healthy kitten, and not having a tail will not prevent her from having a normal life.
Petsecure heard about Ivy’s terrible situation and has generously stepped in to match all medical donations up to $3500 toward Ivy’s care and other animals who need urgent medical help. Any donations that go above and beyond will go toward the next animal that will inevitably walk, or limp, through our doors.
Ivy is a fighter and survivor, she has made great progress in a few days and though she’s a bit wobbly, she’s started to move around a bit more now that she’s not in pain. She loves to play with string toys and is eager for the attention of all the branch staff!
Sweet little Ivy requires about eight weeks of careful recovery after her surgery and amputation to make sure everything is healing properly. She will then be able to find a new furever family to show her the love she deserves!
