Medical Emergency Fund Page for Katy

Katy is a four-year-old girl who has suffered more than any animal should. She was brought in with a large open wound on her leg and groin area that could have been fatal if left untreated for much longer. The wound was heavily infected and will need at least two urgent surgeries to repair. It’s hard to imagine how much pain this poor cat has been experiencing.

Katy’s first surgery will be to debride the wound and to send off a skin culture for testing. Once the first surgery is complete, she will need frequent bandage changes for about a week until her second surgery. The second surgery will only be done if the culture test comes back clear. If it comes back clear, the surgery will require a skin graft to be placed.

This skin graft will help speed up healing in the area and she will be on medications to help with her pain and prevent infections from forming. Katy will be on carefully monitored rest while she heals.

Despite the agony Katy must be in, she is extremely loving and seeks attention from anyone she can get it from. She doesn’t let her wound affect her mood and can bring a smile to anyone’s face!

Katy’s recovery time is dependent on how well her wound is healing, but her vet estimates she will hopefully be healthy and ready to find a loving furever family in about six weeks.

This young cat needs your love to get through her surgeries ahead, will you help her by donating to her care?

Personal updates for Katy will be provided to anyone who donates to her campaign.

*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Katy until she’s ready for adoption. If her medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in her name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
