Medical Emergency Fund Page for Rocky

Rocky is a sweet little Chihuahua who was sadly abandoned by his previous owners at a kennel. The BC SPCA was called and he was brought in by an animal protection officer so he could get the care and love he needs.

Upon arrival, Rocky was nervous and quiet as he was clearly confused about where he was and what was going on. He is underweight and has a severely painful case of oral disease that has been neglected for a long time. The disease is so bad that at only seven years old, he will require most of his teeth out.

Since Rocky has an extremely small jaw, he needs an experienced specialist to carefully perform his dental surgery as he’s at risk for his jaw breaking. His vet said it’s the smallest jaw they will have worked on! This puts Rocky at a higher risk, so he will be on a very careful recovery post-surgery.

Rocky won’t eat most dog food offered to him due to his pain, so he’s temporarily getting small amounts of ‘people’ food to entice him to eat his own food more.

Rocky goes in for his surgery soon and is having his pain managed with medication. He’s warming up to the branch staff helping him now that he’s feeling better. This adorable boy requires about 5 weeks of recovery to make sure everything heals properly before he can find his new furever home!

This gentle guy needs your love to get through his extensive surgery ahead, will you help him?

Personal updates for Rocky will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.

*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Rocky until he’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
