Medical Emergency Fund Page for Pekoe

*Update on Pekoe - Sadly Pekoe's infection has spread to the bone and he will need his leg amputated. He will go in for his amputation surgery soon, followed by a few weeks of careful recovery. It's been tough for this sweet boy, but he's been a trooper!

Pekoe was transferred in from the cat rescue CRPAWS when he was discovered amongst a large colony of cats they are working on helping. Since he is not feral and needed desperate medical attention, he was transferred to the BC SPCA so he could get continued care. When he arrived, he had so many issues. He was thin, has a severe injury to his hind leg that has turned into a huge infection. He had ear mites, internal parasites, fleas, and feline lice!

That’s a lot of a little cat to go through. He requires surgery to have a drain placed in his leg to help speed up healing, along with treatments for his parasites. He will be neutered at the same time to prevent further stress on his body.

Even though he has a long recovery ahead of him, he’s showing signs of improvement each day. He’s very tolerant of all the care branch staff have to give him. He’s a bit scared, but eagerly accepts any love and attention that comes his way.

Pekoe is coming out of his shell more each day, and everyone is so eager for him to feel his best self! He will be ready to find a loving furever family after about three weeks of healing.

Pekoe had a really rough start to life, and he needs your help to get through his treatments and surgery! Will you help him by donating to his care?

Personal updates for Pekoe will be provided to anyone who donates to his campaign.

*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Pekoe until he’s ready for adoption. If his medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in his name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
