Medical Emergency Fund Page for Millie

Millie’s arrival was a complete surprise. She showed up at the front door of the East Kootenay BC SPCA branch all by herself. No crate, no human, just Millie sitting nicely waiting for someone to find her. Staff brought her safely inside and knew right away that Millie was in pain.

This beautiful senior girl has severe oral disease that is so incredibly painful that she struggles to eat. She was starving. She was also limping, had wounds on her feet, and was very dirty. Poor Millie was saturated in her own urine that we suspect she might have been left in a crate for some time before coming into care. Milly has clearly suffered, and it’s heartbreaking to see.

After a good scrub and a new soft food diet, Millie is already starting to feel so much better. The wounds on her feet are being treated with antibiotics and she is able to walk around with more ease.

Millie is an absolute sweet heart. She is so gentle and calm. When we found her outside, she was just sitting there, looking around, as if she was thinking “how did I get here?”. She loves a good nap, and just hanging out with branch staff.

In her senior years, Millie deserves nothing more than a pain-free life and a loving retirement home.

Will you help Millie by donating to her ongoing medical care?

Personal updates for Millie will be provided to anyone who donates to her campaign.

*Goal includes: surgery, medication, treatment, regular health check, and daily care for Millie until she's ready for adoption. If her medical costs and cost of care is less than is raised in her name, additional funds will provide care for other animals.
