Medical Emergency Fund for Miracle
Trapped for nearly six hours, this cat’s survival is true to her name — Miracle.
When a local resident pulled out of their parking space, they heard the last sound anyone wants to hear: a terrified cry coming from inside their car. Peering into the wheel well, they discovered a frightened, injured cat wedged inside.
Word spread quickly. Neighbours gathered. The fire department arrived. With the vehicle owner’s permission, they began carefully removing parts of the car to reach her. The local BC SPCA Night Emergency Officer rushed to the scene, they reached out to a dedicated veterinarian, and a friend who was an animal rescuer and paramedic, knowing every set of skilled hands could make the difference for this animal. Still, Miracle remained trapped…until a local mechanic stepped forward. With precision and care, they removed more of the car, shifted it into neutral, and finally freed her. The veterinarian arrived just in time, and rushed the poor cat to their clinic.
Miracle was alive, but she was in pain. She was immediately started on fluids, pain relief, and antibiotics. Her leg was too badly damaged to save, but her life could be. First, surgeons cleaned away dead tissue and placed a drain to help her heal. Days later, they amputated her injured leg, giving her a true second chance.
Following surgery, she has been in foster with someone at the clinic, receiving the careful wound care and special attention she needs. It’s been a slow process, but her strength is returning, and this once terrified stray, is finally safe. She thanks her caregivers with gentle headbutts and tiny chirps. It took a whole community to pull Miracle from that car. Now, she needs your kindness to continue her healing journey. Will you be a part of Miracle’s rescue story today?
Personal updates for Miracle will be provided to anyone who donates to her care.
*Goal includes: Amputation surgery, wound care, bloodwork, medications and daily care for Miracle until she is ready for adoption. If the funds raised goes beyond the needs of this little survivor, your kindness will carry forward to help the next animal in urgent need of life-saving medical care.
