Medical Emergency Fund for Air Bud
This golden retriever puppy arrived with raw, deep wounds around his armpits—caused by a harness that had become far too tight for the quickly growing pup.
Air Bud had been trapped in the same harness day and night. As his body grew bigger, the straps became tighter and tighter. Each week, it cut deeper into his body leaving him silently suffering and unable to escape the pain. By the time his guardian brought him to us, the damage was already severe.
There was no time to waste. Once in our care, Air Bud was rushed to the vet. His medical team acted quickly, sedating the pup and prepping the wounds for surgery. They gently shaved away his beautiful golden fur, cleaned his cuts, and carefully stitched his broken body back together. Now in foster care with a clinic staff member, Air Bud is receiving the extra special care he needs to heal. He’s on daily pain medication, antibiotics, and must keep calm to ensure a smooth recovery. That’s no small task for a bouncy young pup!
Air Bud is doing a lot better, but his journey isn’t over yet. This boy still needs a neuter surgery and continued care before he’ll be ready for his fresh start in a loving forever home. Even now, in recovery, Air Bud is showing glimpses of the joyful, goofy pup he really is, dragging all his toys out of their bin to show off, getting into mischief…sneaking a few sips from the toilet when no one’s looking! Every silly moment is a sign that he’s starting to feel better in himself and his own body.
If you have a soft spot for golden goofballs, please send your love to Air Bud today. Your caring gift will help cover his surgery, medication, and ongoing care. He’ll be sending big, slobbery kisses your way as thanks!
Personal updates for Air Bud will be provided to anyone who donates to his care.
*Goal includes: Wound repair surgery, medications, neuter surgery and daily care for Air Bud until he is ready for adoption. If the funds raised goes beyond the needs of this loving dog, your kindness will carry forward to help the next animal in urgent need of life-saving medical care.
