Medical Emergency Fund for Bazil

Bazil is a total lovebug. He loves to purr as he presses his face right into yours and rest his head in your lap. He will gladly hobble across the room for pets and love, sharing his kisses with you like you’re the one needing comfort! He is such a friendly and handsome boy who is adored by all who’ve met him.

When Bazil arrived, he was unable to walk without limping. His front paw was very sore and he clearly needed a vet to determine what was going on. After various checks, they discovered he is suffering with two dislocated toes which are causing him pain and discomfort. His care team explored their options and decided splinting his leg to allow time for healing was best. Bazil was found a loving foster home where he could receive the dedicated care he needed, as well as medication for the pain. After many weeks of careful monitoring, patience and gentle paw soaks, Bazil was not making the progress his veterinarian was hoping to see and was booked in for surgery to amputate his toes to give him the best quality of life.

Surprisingly in the time between booking his surgery and the day itself, this boy seems to have come on leaps and bounds (literally!). He’s playing more, jumping and slowly using his leg more comfortably. We’re not sure how things will continue to progress and surgery isn’t off the table just yet, but Bazil’s recovery is moving in the right direction for this sweetheart.
