Medical Emergency Fund for Ragdoll cats and kittens

If you’d seen these eight ragdoll cats and kittens when they arrived, your heart would have broken. Tiny bodies, patches of missing fur, wide, frightened eyes — Trix, Vector, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, Cookie Crisp, Cap’N Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, and little Cheerio were rescued from heartbreaking neglect. Soaked in urine and crawling with fleas, their suffering was clear the moment they came into care.

As the group was examined by a veterinarian, the extent of their medical issues began to unfold. Their skinny bodies were crawling with fleas, leaving their skin raw and irritated, while a black buildup clogged their ears. All of the adults were suffering from painful skin reactions from flea bites so severe that secondary infections had developed, causing painful hot spots across their fragile bodies. An injection and oral medications were necessary to soothe the painful, inflamed skin. One adult is also suffering with cysts that will need to be removed. They are also battling a highly contagious ringworm infection and remain under strict quarantine. It will take weeks — even months — of medicated baths, treatments, and specialized support to help them heal both inside and out.

Given their previous neglect, these cats and kittens are extremely afraid and under-socialized. They have been prescribed medication to help manage their anxiety as they begin to navigate their new normal. To care for them safely, staff and volunteers must fully suit up in protective gear every time they visit. Despite the challenges, soft words, gentle touches, and soothing medicated baths are helping these felines build trust. Slowly, tiny signs of hope are emerging. A few of the kittens have even started purring when receiving loving pets! It might not sound like much, but it’s a big step forward. Will you be their hero today and provide the critical love and care they’ll need for the weeks ahead?

Personal updates for these cats and kittens will be provided to anyone who donates towards their care.

*Goal includes: Medicated baths, medications, spay/neuter surgeries and daily care for these eight kitties until they are ready for adoption. If funds raised go above and beyond the needs of these loving cats, your kind gift will help the next animal who needs urgent medical care.
