When River was found treading water in a lagoon, exhausted and hypothermic, it was clear he had been fighting for his life.

River’s ordeal was harrowing—potentially spending up to 24 hours in the freezing water. The eight-month-old pup needed immediate emergency care to stabilize his condition, including round-the-clock monitoring, pain management, and wound care for a severe pressure sore. Against all odds, this brave boy pulled through, but his recovery has been a testament to his resilience and strength.

Now, River is gaining his strength ahead of his neuter surgery. The jolly sweetheart adores belly rubs, longs for human companionship, and dreams of a forever home where he can enjoy long walks, hiking adventures, and all the love he deserves.
