Abandoned and left to fend for herself, Valkyrie’s life on the streets harsh and unforgiving. When she was finally rescued, this brave soul carried the scars of her struggles.

Upon intake, our animal care team discovered significant hair loss, which was soon diagnosed as a severe case of ringworm. Untreated ear mites left her with relentless itching and a painful hematoma in her left ear. To make matters worse, a broken tooth was found, requiring oral surgery once her infection clears.

Now in quarantine, Valkyrie is undergoing medicated baths twice a week and oral antifungal medication. Her recovery is slow and requires ongoing lab testing to monitor progress. Being in isolation has triggered symptoms of an upper respiratory infection, and her medical team is closely monitoring her watery eyes and sneezing.

Yet, through all this, Valkyrie remains remarkably sweet and affectionate. She greets her caregivers with affection and trust, leaning into their touch even during her uncomfortable treatments.
