Medical Emergency Fund for Shadow, Moonie, Pepperoni
Dirty, hungry, and covered in fleas—a group of sickly kittens were found outside all alone, huddled together for comfort.
It’s a miracle that their kind rescuer spotted them and took quick action, driving them to the nearest BC SPCA to get them the help they desperately needed. Arriving skinny and suffering from pneumonia, the kittens were in an extremely delicate state. Despite the best efforts and vet care, only three survived—Shadow, Moonie, and Pepperoni.
Shadow has been struggling with pneumonia, requiring several rounds of antibiotics, chest x-rays, fluids, and a special diet to aid his digestion. Little Moonie battled pustules on his body, infected eyes, and an internal infection. Pepperoni developed a mysterious abscess on his front paw that had to be removed, needing pain management and antibiotics for recovery. Moonie and Pepperoni were so distressed without their mother that they began suckling on each other’s bodies for comfort, causing painful sores. Their dedicated foster even made them tiny custom baby sock suits to protect their fragile skin. With two of the kittens being too young to eat on their own, they needed round-the-clock bottle feeding from their amazing foster. These little fighters have come such a long way.
They are survivors, and after everything they’ve endured, Shadow, Moonie, and Pepperoni are blossoming into lovable, well-rounded kittens on the road to recovery. Could you share your love and help them continue their journey toward a happy, healthy life?
Personal updates for these little ones will be provided to anyone who donates towards their care.
*Goal includes: Antibiotics, fluids, x-rays, recheck appointments, spay/neuter surgeries, medications and daily care for Shadow, Moonie, and Pepperoni until they are ready for adoption. If funds raised go above and beyond the needs of these kittens, your kind gift will help the next animal who needs urgent medical care.
