Medical Emergency Fund for Chowder

When Chowder was found all alone outdoors, she appeared to be just another stray cat in need of a safe place. But her poor body was battling far more than anyone could see on the surface.

Her kind rescuers brought her to us, and it quickly became clear that Chowder was in significant discomfort. A vet examination, including ultrasound, revealed the shocking truth…not only did she have painful bladder stones, but a sewing needle was lodged inside her as well! Chowder was immediately placed on a special urinary diet, given pain management, and scheduled for an exploratory surgery in hopes of removing the needle. To top it off, she desperately needed an oral surgery to remove damaged teeth and clean the rest. Plus, as an overweight kitty, Chowder requires a weight management plan to help her reach a healthy size.

During surgery, two dedicated vets searched for the needle for almost an hour but couldn’t locate it. They believe it may be deeply embedded and it may have been inside her for quite some time. With no concern of it perforating her bowels, they recommend monitoring her with follow up x-rays in future.

Since starting her new diet and undergoing oral surgery, Chowder has begun to feel some relief. Despite everything, she has remained an absolute lovebug—always purring and soaking up every pat she could get, even at her worst.

This sweet girl has a long road to recovery, and she needs your kindness. Will you help Chowder on her journey to healing?

Personal updates for sweet Chowder will be provided to anyone who donates to her campaign.

*Goal includes: Exploratory laparoscopic surgery, ultrasound, x-rays, oral surgery, medications and daily care for Chowder until she is ready for adoption. If funds raised go above and beyond the needs of Chowder, your kind gift will help the next animal who needs urgent medical care.
