Medical Emergency Fund for Sweetie

Six-year-old Shih Tzu, Sweetie, arrived in shocking condition.

Poor Sweetie has been battling multiple health issues, with her situation growing more dire by the day. Her guardian, struggling with their own health issues, was unable to provide the necessary care. Thankfully, her family recognized the loving dog’s urgent need for veterinary attention and surrendered her to the BC SPCA. Once under the care of her dedicated medical team, x-rays revealed bladder stones inside her. Sweetie was immediately booked for surgery to have ten stones removed. She also suffers from cherry eye and her mouth is in desperate need of treatment. These issues cause a lot of discomfort for Sweetie, and she requires eye and oral surgeries so that she can live pain-free. Sweetie needs to remain on a special diet for the rest of her life to prevent the bladder stones from returning.

Despite her discomfort, Sweetie is such a lovely little dog. She really lives up to her name and is a total sweetheart. Will you share your love with little Sweetie today so that she can live the pain-free life she deserves?

Personal updates for Sweetie will be provided to anyone who donates to her campaign.

*Goal includes: Oral surgery, cherry eye repair, bladder stone removal, medications, x-rays, spay surgery and daily care for Sweetie until she is ready for adoption. If funds raised go above and beyond the needs of Sweetie, your kind gift will help the next animal who needs urgent medical care.
