Medical Emergency Fund for Tia and Sequoia
These small senior pups arrived severely matted, underweight, covered in fleas, and in desperate need of some TLC.
Beneath their tangled fur, both had irritated skin and significant oral disease. They were brought straight to their medical team, who removed most of their painful mats before they headed to a grooming appointment to gently untangle the rest to give them a fresh start. Bloodwork and urine tests revealed anemia linked to parasites, along with elevated levels showing the toll their dental disease was taking on their bodies. Several lumps and bumps were also tested.
Both Tia and Sequoia were in desperate need of extensive oral surgery. Tia had more than 2o teeth removed, leaving her with no teeth at all. Sequoia needed two separate surgeries to safely remove all of his affected teeth. He is now eating only wet food while his mouth heals and is receiving antibiotics and pain medication to support his recovery. Tia still needs to be spayed, have several mammary lumps removed, and undergo a hernia repair, while some of Sequoia’s lumps may also be removed at a later date.
Despite everything they’ve been through, these two are incredibly sweet, people-loving dogs who adore being together. Sequoia is Tia’s little shadow and will even howl when they’re separated. They groom each other, cuddle up together, and do just about everything side by side, with Tia proudly calling the shots as the dynamic duo’s boss. Sequoia loves burrowing his face into cozy blankets for naps and gets the zoomies like a puppy when he’s excited. Tia, meanwhile, wants to be wherever her people are and will happily grumble and paw at you when she thinks she isn’t getting enough attention. With continued care and love, these two seniors can keep enjoying all the simple comforts they adore, together.
Personal updates for Tia and Sequoia will be provided to anyone who donates to their care.
*Goal includes: Oral surgeries, x-rays, lump removals, hernia repair, bloodwork, testing, spay surgery, medications, and daily care for Tia and Sequoia until they are ready for adoption. If the funds raised goes beyond the needs of these animals, your kindness will carry forward to help the next animal in urgent need of life-saving medical care.
