Senior havanese mix Buddy arrived afraid, uncertain, and carrying a long list of medical challenges.
He was living with advanced dental disease that required multiple teeth to be removed, a growth on his side, arthritis in his back leg, and tummy issues. Unsurprisingly, living with that level of discomfort affected every part of his life, including his behaviour. Buddy is finally beginning to feel relief. His painful teeth and growth have been removed, and he’s now receiving long-term medication to manage the arthritis in his leg. While he’s still recovering, the transformation has already been remarkable.
This little guy has come so far. When he first arrived, staff had difficulty handling him and even struggled to get him outside for bathroom breaks. But once Buddy realized he was safe and his pain began to ease, everything changed.
Now, the moment he hears the word “walk,” his ears perk up and he takes off as fast as his little legs can carry him. He adores his people and wants nothing more than to curl up in someone’s arms.
