Nugget arrived afraid and unsure. The adorable Shih Tzu clearly needed patience, love, and medical care to feel safe and comfortable. X-rays revealed he desperately needed an oral surgery, including the removal of some painful teeth and a thorough dental cleaning. He’s also been placed on a special diet to help settle his upset tummy, and pain medication to ease his discomfort.

After just a few days, Nugget started to feel safe and his personality has begun to shine. With gentle care, he’s gone from cowering away to greeting his caretakers with happy barks and enthusiastic wiggles, even rolling over for belly rubs.
