Medical Emergency Fund for Buckles

Lying on the side of a road, seriously injured, this beautiful Siamese kitty lay waiting for help to arrive.

Thankfully, a kind passerby noticed him and rushed Buckles to the nearest animal hospital. He arrived with a dislocated knee and road rash, and his medical team stabilized the knee with a splint and gently cleaned his wounds. After a few days in hospital care, he was transferred to the local BC SPCA, still on stray hold while searching for his family. When no one came forward, Buckles was placed in a foster home to rest while his leg remained splinted.

At his follow-up appointment, his medical team found that the knee joint would not hold, and recommended amputation to give him the best chance at a comfortable life. Now post-amputation, Buckles is already eager to jump and run, clearly feeling much better. Like many outdoor cats, his teeth are in poor shape and he will need an oral surgery to remove damaged teeth and clean the rest, as well as a neuter procedure.

It’s hard to imagine this sweet boy living outdoors on his own. Buckles is an absolute lovebug, purring the moment he sees people, wanting to be held, and constantly making biscuits. With your kindness, Buckles can receive all the loving care he needs to heal and thrive.

Personal updates for Buckles will be provided to anyone who donates to his care.

*Goal includes: Oral surgery, amputation surgery, medications, neuter surgery and daily care for Buckles until he is ready for adoption. If the funds raised goes beyond the needs of this animal, your kindness will carry forward to help the next animal in urgent need of life-saving medical care.
