Medical Emergency Fund for Bella

After going days without food, Bella is finally safe, but her journey to recovery has only just begun.

Bella was rushed to a nearby animal hospital for careful examination right away. Her medical team found that she was emaciated, with a greasy, itchy coat, overgrown nails, and parasites. Her body is fragile, and there’s a risk of re-feeding syndrome, which can happen when starving animal starts eating again. Bella was placed on a strict refeeding plan to help her safely regain her strength. To help her coat, she needs regular baths and ear cleanings to keep her comfortable, and her health is being monitored with bloodwork. Her medical team are monitoring her health through bloodwork and urine testing. And finally, Bella needs an oral surgery so she can eat comfortably.

Despite everything this little lady has endured, she is still so full of love. She loves to be on a warm lap. She was so food focused when she arrived, she would sneak bites from lunches and even explore garbage cans for any morsel! With loving care, she’s gaining her strength, and with that comes with more energy.

Bella has come a long way, but still needs surgery and ongoing care to recover. With you by her side, she will get the second chance she deserves.
