Medical Emergency Fund for Dump kittens

It was a normal day for a worker at a waste management facility. But as he loaded cardboard into a compactor, tiny, desperate mews caught his attention. Following the sounds, this kind rescuer discovered two tiny kittens buried beneath layers of cardboard just moments before the compactor was about to be activated. The worker scooped up the kittens and rushed them to the local BC SPCA for urgent care. Later that day, he discovered a third kitten not far from where the others were and brought that little one to safety as well. Days later, two more kittens were found. With the animal centre closed, this compassionate rescuer took them into his home to keep them safe and warm overnight, dropping them off at the centre the following morning.

We don’t know how these five precious little souls ended up at the dump, but it’s nothing short of a miracle that their cries were heard.

They arrived with infections causing their eyes to goop and crust shut. Each kitten was started on antibiotics to help their tiny bodies fight and heal. At just a few weeks old, they needed to be bottle fed with special formula to help them gain weight. Bottle-feeding is a huge undertaking as babies need meals every few hours when they are so young. Dave, Steven, Dorito, Cheeto, and Annie were placed into two experienced foster homes so they could receive the round-the-clock care they need. Thankfully, their foster parents work at the same animal hospital, which means the kittens get to spend each day together with their siblings, curled up in a cozy and warm cuddle pile.

As they gain their strength, their loving little personalities are beginning to show. Dave is the biggest yet gentlest, and a true parkour enthusiast. Steven is brave and curious, and he immediately purrs when picked up. Dorito may be the smallest, but his tiny voice makes up for it. He’s sure to be a great cuddler. Cheeto is laid-back and loves to snuggle. Annie, the only girl, keeps up with her brothers and proves nobody puts baby Annie in the corner! Once they are old enough, each will need spay or neuter surgery before they can be officially adopted. These five have had such a rough start, but your love will give them the happy life they deserve.
