Karen was found living outdoors, struggling in pain and understandably weary of people.

Once in our care, and after some detective work, it became clear that she was suffering from chronic ear infections cause by constant cystic growths, leading to perpetual pain and inflammation. After months of medication trials, her right ear responded, but her stubborn left ear wouldn’t cooperate. To give Karen the pain-free retirement years she deserves, she needed a special surgery to remove her ear canal.

Now healing from her big surgery, Karen is getting used to hearing out of just one ear. She needs daily medicated drops, but she’s become very cooperative for them. Karen loves gentle pets and rubs against her people for affection. This loving feline has been in our care many months, patiently working on her health and learning to trust people again.
