Medical Emergency Fund for Willy
Found injured on the side of the road, young Willy needs your love to heal.
This gentle dog was likely hit by a car and left alone in terrible pain, until a kind stranger spotted him and rushed him to safety. At the emergency vet, Willy was immediately given pain relief while x-rays revealed the extent of his injuries: a broken femur and tibia. His medical team determined that a leg amputation was the best path forward to end his suffering and give him a chance at a full, pain-free life.
While waiting for his big surgery in foster care, Willy’s foster family noticed something concerning…he was holding his bladder. Fearing possible nerve damage, he was rushed back to the vet for a catheter and more x-rays. Thankfully, no nerve damage was found.
Willy is endlessly sweet. He wags his tail the moment he sees you or hears your voice, always eager for attention. He’s in foster care with another dog, Prince, who was recently adopted from the BC SPCA after undergoing his own leg injury and recovery. The two have formed a beautiful bond. Prince, having been through a similar journey, has become a calming presence for Willy, a gentle companion offering comfort when he needs it most.
Could you share your love with Willy today? Your caring gift will help provide the surgery, care, and comfort this brave pup needs to start his new chapter.
Personal updates for Willy will be provided to anyone who donates to his care.
*Goal includes: Emergency vet visit, x-rays, bloodwork, amputation surgery, medications, neuter surgery and daily care for Willy until he is ready for adoption. If the funds raised goes beyond the needs of this loving dog, your kindness will carry forward to help the next animal in urgent need of life-saving medical care.
