Medical Emergency Fund for Sophie and Siren
They had nowhere to go, until a caring stranger found them. Discovered tied to a fencepost in a park, these golden girls had a note attached asking for someone to find them good homes.
When the kind member of the public came across Sophie and Siren, they knew they needed help and brought them to their local BC SPCA. During their intake examinations, staff found lumps and bumps, severe skin mites, and broken, worn-down teeth. The girls were taken to a veterinarian for further examinations, x-rays, and diagnostic testing, where an even longer list of medical concerns were uncovered.
Sophie was in rough shape. She’s been suffering from oral disease, a urinary tract infection, mammary masses and signs of arthritis in her hips. She received antibiotics and was scheduled for oral surgery, a mass removal and a spay surgery. She will also need ongoing joint supplements to help keep her hips comfortable. Siren was found to be anemic, and testing was needed to investigate a lump on her chin. She requires a special diet, oral surgery, lump removal and a spay surgery. Both girls have been treated for fleas and are receiving medicated baths to help heal their skin.
Despite everything they’ve been through, Sophie and Siren have remained incredibly sweet. When they first arrived, they seemed unsure what to do with toys. Now, they proudly carry them around everywhere they go. Sophie is a gentle soul who loves heading out for short walks with her people ( and a stuffed toy in her mouth). Siren is equally loving. She enjoys long walks on the beach, playing with her toys and soaking up time with her caretakers.
With surgery and loving care, Sophie and Siren are getting the second chance they need. Will you help these golden girls heal?
Personal updates for Sophie and Siren will be provided to anyone who donates to their care.
*Goal includes: Oral surgeries, x-rays, lump removals, diagnostic testing, medications, spay surgeries, and daily care for Sophie and Siren until they are ready for adoption. If the funds raised goes beyond the needs of these animals, your kindness will carry forward to help the next animal in urgent need of life-saving medical care.
