This sweet senior girl was suffering in silence.

When Penelope arrived showing signs of discomfort when being picked up, staff brought her to an animal hospital for an exam. Her medical team discovered a ruptured abscess at the base of her tail. Poor Penelope needed an emergency surgery to remove dead tissue and suture the area. This loving 9-year-old cat is now resting in a foster home where she can get the peaceful loving care she needs as she heals.

Penelope is quite the chatterbox and loves being around people. Within an hour of arriving at her foster home, she had already come out of hiding and curled up on the couch for a cat nap. She follows her foster family from room to room, always hoping for affection and companionship. Her foster family describe her as an absolute sweetheart, happiest when she’s snuggled up to her people.
