Medical Emergency Fund for Murphy

This Cocker Spaniel mix was a mess when he arrived with us. The stray was found roaming alone by a caring animal lover who brought him to our doors. Murphy was heavily matted, leaving his skin uncomfortable and a pinching feeling across his body. He was also suffering from urine scalding on his legs and testicles. Despite his condition and clearly being in pain, he has always been so sweet and gentle. This boy has love in his heart and he can’t wait to share it!

Murphy needed a sedated shave to remove his painful mats and ease his poor body. The weight of carrying around such a matted coat is a lot, and you start to see the relief in an animal right away. For Murphy it was the whole body wag when he’s happy. It starts with his tail, but soon his entire body is moving!

This sweet pup has other adorable quirks too. He sometimes gets his lip stuck on his teeth and his goofy face really makes you smile. He loves duck tender treats the most but they have a piece of sweet potato inside. Murphy will carefully eat the exterior and leave the potato behind in protest! He’s a big lover of stuffies too, and enjoys carrying them to his bed to cuddle up with. Now free from mats, his favourite thing is to have his big, floppy ears massaged. It’s comforting for both Murph and his caregivers!

Murphy has needed extensive grooming, IV fluids, medicated shampoo and baths, hydrotherapy, medication and vaccinations, as well as neuter surgery. If you’d like to be a part of his recovery journey, please make a caring donation towards his treatments.
