Medical Emergency Fund for Trixie
Trixie was found alone in an industrial area, struggling to survive. Just six weeks old, with big floofy paws, pointy little ears, and a helpless little face, she was injured and in pain. Her kind rescuer carefully scooped her up and rushed her to an emergency veterinary hospital.
Trixie arrived with part of her right back leg missing, as well as injuries on two of her other legs. She was given pain medication right away to comfort her and her medical team carefully cleaned the wounds and assessed her. It was immediately clear surgery would be necessary to remove what remained of her severely damaged leg. When offered food, Trixie wasted no time licking her bowl clean; building her strength for the medical treatments ahead. In the days leading up to her surgery, she remained on a strict schedule of pain medication and antibiotics to help her tiny body prepare.
After her major leg surgery, Trixie was placed in a foster home where she is receiving the extra care and attention her body needs as it recovers. She has an upcoming check-up with her medical team, and once she’s gained a bit more weight, she’ll be spayed. She is a big fan of the comforts of her new indoor life—soft beds, warm blankets, and cozy nooks where she can rest peacefully. She leans in for cheek scratches, purrs through exams, and reminds us every day that hope is stronger than fear.
We may never know how this happened, but we can change what happens next. Could you open your heart to Trixie today to help her get the second chance she deserves?
Personal updates for Trixie will be provided to anyone who donates to her care.
*Goal includes: Amputation surgery, medications, spay surgery, and daily care for Trixie until she is ready for adoption. If the funds raised goes beyond the needs of this animal, your kindness will carry forward to help the next animal in urgent need of life-saving medical care.
