Medical Emergency Fund for Blueberry
After several days of vomiting, refusing to eat, and not having a bowel movement, it was clear that something was very wrong with Blueberry. The three-month-old kitten was rushed to an animal hospital to get the urgent care she needed.
Her medical team suspected a bowel obstruction and admitted her for overnight care on IV fluids. Little Blueberry showed signs of pain and tenderness in her tummy, and x-rays revealed a concerning gas pattern inside. A gentle flushing procedure was attempted to help her pass a bowel movement, but unfortunately it didn’t work. She needed an emergency surgery.
During surgery, the team found that part of her intestine had slid into another. A large portion of her intestine had to be removed. The surgery was successful, and Blueberry is now healing in a foster home on kennel rest, with pain medication and antibiotics to keep her comfortable. Once fully recovered, she will be spayed.
Even when in pain, Blueberry continues to purr. This brave girl steals the hearts of everyone she meets, and we can’t wait to see her fully healed and thriving in a loving forever home. Will you share your kind heart with Blueberry today to help cover the cost of her life-saving surgery and care?
Personal updates for Blueberry will be provided to anyone who donates to her care.
*Goal includes: Bowel obstruction surgery, bloodwork, enema, medications, spay surgery, and daily care for Blueberry until she is ready for adoption. If the funds raised goes beyond the needs of this animal, your kindness will carry forward to help the next animal in urgent need of life-saving medical care.
