Medical Emergency Fund for Tater
My name is Tater. Some say because I’m round like a Tater Tot – but I think it’s because I’m someone you just can’t get enough of. Recently some nice folks found me running close to a busy main road, which is how I ended up at the BC SPCA. I was doing my best to be careful of the cars, but I’m only small. Honestly, at first I was nervous when I got to the animal centre, but a little outdoor play time later and the staff and I were best buds.
Don’t let this youthful face fool you. I may look like a puppy in springtime but I’m a wise gentleman, already 10 years old. Unfortunately I haven’t been getting my teeth brushed like I should (I know, I know…) and I’ve developed real pain around my snoot – I think they said something about grade three dental disease. Ouch! I can only eat wet food for now since my gums are so sore. Thankfully, I have medicine to help with the pain.
I can’t wait to eat proper food again and chew on toys as much as I like. I’m also getting treated for an ear infection treated, and itchy skin too. I heard them talking about my back knees being weak. Apparently, I’ll have to lose some weight once my teeth are fixed with surgery. I still need some convincing on that one…
At any rate, once I get these toofs looking better I’m taking proper care of them for real. Or rather, my forever family will, once I find them. Roaming around by yourself can get pretty lonely. I can’t wait to show them what a cuddling champion I am!
Today, I need some help from kind-hearted people like you so that I can feel better!
Personal updates for Tater will be provided to anyone who donates to his care.
*Goal includes: Oral surgery, bloodwork and testing, medications, and daily care for Tater until he is ready for adoption. If the funds raised goes beyond the needs of this sweet senior, your kindness will carry forward to help the next animal in urgent need of life-saving medical care.
